Post card from Conard Bernhardt Cup

So finally we got here after driving for over 24 hours – PeEll, Washington; the Champions range, a place were shooting 37/40 will grant you 2nd place… just think about this….

Conard Bernhardt Cup; this one was a 13th one, a memorial shoot in the memory of Conard Bernhardt, one of the - if not THE best shooter in the Silhouette Rifle shooting history.  He is still holding many of Nationals records for the long runs and highest scores shot in the match.  His fellow’s shooters are putting on “the great silhouette shoot”, which is spiced up with many great prizes like: Kowa spotting scope, Leopold’s scopes, cases of target ammo, and many other valuable prices.

Many top silhouette shooters attend this competition, but only one will be the Canard Bernhardt Cup Champion.  There are 35 “Masters” probably as many “AAA’ shooters, and the rest is “AA”,

There are shooters from all over: Canada, US and even Ireland.  I would call it the American Continent Championships.

Attend this Championship is a must for every silhouette shooter, it is like a pilgrimage for the silhouette game, if you think that you are on the top of your class – this will prove if you are right or wrong.  You will be competing against the best in the North American Continent.

The shoot consist of 2 days of shooting, 40 rds in each rifle category, silhouette and hunter, then after shooting for 2 days your score is combined together (hunter+ silhouette) and total counts for the aggregate.  The best out of 160 makes the winner.

Of course there are winners awards in each class as well.

Entry is limited to 80 shooters and every year it seems to be full, so if you plan to go there then register early.

I attended many of matches, but this one is the most smoothly run, and the most challenging one.  If you plan to shoot a good score sometimes in the future – this range will make you do that.  Just check it for yourself.
